‘The Town Hall is a substantial building of stone in the classical style. The large Hall is 80 ft long, 42 wide, and 28 high, and contains a fine organ which has recently been erected in commemoration of Her Majesty’s Diamond Jubilee, at a cost of £1000.
‘The Ryde Amusements Committee hold many shows here during the year, and both popular and high-class Concerts are frequently given. Public and private Balls take place in the large and small halls, which are in every way admirably suited for that purpose.’
