On 23rd September 2017 we had the pleasure to meet the second-cousin of Donald McGill, Ron McGill, artist in oil, cartoonist, art tutor and lecturer, who visited the Museum of Ryde and enjoyed hours in the Donald McGill section, sharing family memories with our volunteers.

Living in Guildford, Ron McGill has developed over the years an “individual style of fine brushwork which adds both sensibility and sympathy to his subjects”, his painting having an “enchanted quality that enhances the feelings of restfulness and tranquility”. For more information about Ron’s work, please visit the Museum of Ryde and ask for his brochure that he kindly donated after his visit.
