Wherefore art thou, Romeos?
Isle of Wight Observer March 12, 1864
Mr Editor, – Ryde has been dreadfully dull all the winter – no subscription balls – nothing but those fusty tame affairs called “home parties” – and nothing “taking” is yet put forth to break the intolerable monotony on the 23rd of April. Why can’t we have a nice fancy dress ball, all costumes to be Shakesperian? Can there be a richer field open for taste and variety? Though the Club-house is not now available, there are the Victoria-rooms. Are there no Romeos for the
JULIETS?
