November - Ben Spurling

Ben’s interpretation of November is one of reminiscence for the months gone by; of autumn and blustering winds. The female figure sits in the ruins of a temple representing the fallen year, however the green growth rising up the broken pillar shows hope of the New Year.

The brazier represents time passing and November warms herself at it, remembering the months gone by. The flames are all consuming and around her the eleven months of the passing year are shown as eleven oak leaves swirling around.

The dress colour is of the winter sky and its hem embroidered with the Zodiac symbols for Scorpio and Sagittarius. In her hair is a diadem made in the form of Chrysanthemum petals.
